From the 14th – 17th January 2016, the Artichoke Trust – together with a range of sponsors – organised what we hope will be the first of many Lumiere London events.
To see so many people take to the streets to view public art displays was heartwarming. In this city -all too frequently associated with anonymity and unfriendliness – it was lovely to see strangers talking together on the streets, families moving round in awe and a distinct lack of animosity, even when there were places that were extremely busy.
A huge thanks and congratulations to the organisers, and we look forward to future events.
Below is a selection of photographs from the event, with the names of the artists as well as a selected quotes inspired by the installations.
